AMBOY <3
‘’ Mom, can we go to Amboy today?’’
“Um, yeah. But, not for long we have to go somewhere” my mom responded.
“I want to go right now, I had plans!”
“We go every week, it can wait” she replied with an attitude.

I lived in Amboy for half of my life and it was amazingJ. I have a lot of memories there, A LOT. Most of my family lives there. I can remember when I first moved, I was seven.
Every week I got o the salon and get my hair done. A lot of weird and crazy things happen. I find out everything, the latest news. I remember when I was going to a party and this guy started asking things and everyone stop what they were doing just to listen. That was very embarrassing. I also remember when this twenty-year old got stabbed to death, they wouldn’t stop talking about it. It’s still talked about this day because it started a whole war.
When I’m not at the salon, I’m at my aunt’s house. She’s hilarious and always in a good moodJ.I also like going over there to see my baby cousin. A couple of weeks ago they had a surprise party for one of her grand-children and it was fun. I remember having to go get the pizza and the candy. I got home late and with a lot of candy!
I also go downtown or the chicken chuck since its cold. Everybody meets up there. I remember when fights happened. I remember the day the police came; I got kicked out because she wanted to fight. But I was full so I really didn’t care if we got kicked out. In Amboy everybody knows each other and full of Dominicans. Even in school your teacher’s speak Spanish to you. I will always love and miss Amboy, if I could I’ll move back.
